AJ's Pit Bar-B-Q
Opened in 2010 (in Chicago) as a small take-out BBQ Joint, husband and wife team Jared and Amanda Leonard had a dream. They wanted to pair Amanda's love for hospitality and event planning with Jared's love for American BBQ.
10 years later, they formed a full-blown hospitality group SSC Hospitality, which has grown into 10 full service restaurants in 2 states (IL and CO), BBQ catering company, BBQ training center, and full-service event production company. We recently re-located our home to Evergreen, CO and we brought the smokers with us - to open AJ's Pit Bar-B-Q in Denver.
Denver BBQ fans have been lining up on Saturdays and Sundays at 2180 S. Delaware Street for their fresh-from-the-pit smoked offerings. AJ’s Pit Bar-B-Q is a classic Texas style Bar-B-Q joint, and a culmination of Jared’s love for wood-fired cooking combined with Amanda’s love for hospitality” says Leonard.
The expanded menu includes beef ribs (a rarity in Denver), Waygu pastrami, Waygu brisket, pulled pork, dry-rub ribs, smoked turkey, smoked sausage, and smoked chickens and will be accompanied by sides such as truffled mac ‘n’ cheese, custard-filled cornbread, and ham-hock braised collards. Leonard, who also owns The Budlong Hot Chicken (Zeppelin Station), Hamburger Stan (Zeppelin Station), and Grabowski's Pizzeria (The Source)
